How is it already OCTOBER?! September was here for about, what, 5 minutes? Time flies by way too fast.  Just because 2017 is almost over (cry) doesn’t mean the city is going to stop hosting exciting events and festivities, especially during the holidays!

Thanksgiving weekend is finally here and the city is spicing up this holiday by hosting a ton of festive events! I thought this afternoon should be full of Thanksgiving celebrations in the office for our employees, but also for you, our amazing followers and customers!

I have decided to share with you some of the events our team members are going to attend this weekend/ events you HAVE to check out with your family and friends!

1. BUTTERFLY EXHIBIT AT CARLETON UNIVERSITY

An annual event at Carleton University that continues to grow every year! This event is one of the busiest in Ottawa during Thanksgiving weekend. It is something you should check out at least once in your life! Bring your camera, dress warm and be amazed by 40 different species of butterflies.

2.Pumpkinferno at Upper Canada Village

An award-winning, exciting carved pumpkin event at Upper Canada Village. Get your tickets online early so you can avoid long waits at the entrance; plus bring some extra cash for some hot chocolate and yummy cookies! Be amazed by all of the glowing pumpkin art!

3. Saunders Farm

A must on your to-do list for this month is Saunders Farm, especially on Thanksgiving weekend. Jumping pillows, mazes, the Haunted Hayride, restaurant, and the Monster Parade are perfect for all ages!

4. Ottawa Senators vs. Detroit Red Wings

Saturday, October 7th at the Canadian Tire Centre! Have a sporty Thanksgiving weekend by attending one of the first games of the season. #GoSensGo!

5. Hiking in Gatineau

Gatineau Park has some of the most beautiful scenery within minutes of Downtown Ottawa. Take a mini road trip, bring your camera, enjoy the beautiful fall colours and be one with nature!

6. Abbey Hill Farms

Drive on down to Abbey Hill Farms to pick out the perfect Halloween pumpkin to carve.

7. Grab a PSL from Starbucks!

Head to the nearest Starbucks on a chilly day for their famous hot treat – the Pumpkin Spice Latte!

8. Haunted Walk

This iconic event is ready to give you and your besties a great scare this Thanksgiving weekend!

9. Pinewood Orchard – Apple Picking

Drive out to Pinewood Orchard to enjoy a warm fall day picking apples! – Self-picked apples are the tastiest. – Yum!

10.  Major’s Hill Park

Last but never least – head Downtown Ottawa where Major’s Hill Park is featured with gorgeous fall-colour views of Parliament Hill, the Rideau River and a fantastic view of both Ottawa and Gatineau!
